About Equitrans Gas Control Room

To address the segregation of Equitans from EQT Midstream, Stantenc’s team worked with the Equitrans team to create a look and feel of their training and conference space that respects the EQT while supporting Equitans mission. The 5,000-square-foot renovation was comprised of a high-tech Gas Control Room, a War Room with view into the Gas Control, training rooms as well as support staff offices and break room. The design concept was to create a neutral modern industrial space with high exposed ceilings while keeping the space functional for acoustics and durability due to the space being occupied 24/7. Once the company developed their branding colors, they were introduced throughout the space in entry’s signage/lighting focal point to give the space an identity. The project came in on budget from the original estimate of 3.3 million dollars, with a majority of it spent on special AV, and technology requirements and custom workstations.

More About This Space

How does this space drive productivity, collaboration, and connectivity?

This space is multi-shift space which is used 24/7. It’s about 14 people per shift with two shifts per day. Because of this, the room was planned with circadian rhythm lighting. The lighting is programmed to change based on the time of day. This space was also technology-centered with acoustics at the forefront. Each workstation was designed to eliminate as much background noise as possible for focus and productivity. The main collaborative area is used for team meetings with interactive technology. The majority of the project was designed with special AV and technology requirements to connect this gas control to many locations around the world in real time.

What is one thing that is unforgettable when someone walks through your space?

The space was designed as a neutral modern industrial space with high exposed ceilings while keeping the space functional for acoustics and durability due to the space being occupied 24/7. Once the company developed their branding colors, the colors were introduced through-out the space as accent paint and in acoustic artwork as well as in the entry’s signage/lighting focal point to give the space an identity.

How does your space tell your company's story and reflect its brand?

One area that is unforgettable is the main entrance corridor. It was designed with exposed ceilings and a wall applied lighting feature. The lighting feature has special controls that can change the color of the lighting to any RGB color to fit any corporate branding colors. This is the perfect use of technology and design for possible future branding changes.
